St. Augustine's Parish offers once-weekly catechism classes for elementary-aged children (levels Kindergarten through Eight), including sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion (Level 2), and Confirmation (Level 8).
Registrations for the 2022-2023 academic year will begin on Sunday, May 15 and close on Thursday, June 30 (4 PM). Forms may be submitted online and payments must accompany online submissions to reserve a spot for your child. Payments (cash, cheque, or E-transfer to finance@staug.ca) must be submitted to the Office by closing on Tuesday, June 30th, 2022 (4 PM) to avoid late penalties. Late payments are subject to a $20 fee penalty per child (plus any S&H fees for materials).

Once-Weekly Catechism classes will begin Thursday, September 15 from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM with the Opening Mass. Access will be through the West Doors. The Opening Mass will be followed by a brief Meet-n'-Greet, during which time kids will be familiarized with their classroom and parents may meet the catechists.
First Reconciliation & Holy Communion: Level 2 sacramental preparation will continue with in-person classes on Thursday nights, and all Parent Meetings for First Reconciliation (beginning in the fall) will be in-person as well (dates below, location TBD). One adult for each family in sacramental preparation will need to be designated as responsible for attending all Parent Meetings. Details for these meetings will be given closer to the fall.
Home Study: Parents are welcome to enroll their child in the home study program should they not wish their children to attend in-person classes (Levels K-1, 3-7). Contact the Faith Formation Office to do so. Workbooks will be distributed in October and Parent Manuals will be collected at the end of the year.
Confirmation classes will begin in November 2022. A Parents' Meeting will be held (tentatively) on Tuesday, November 8 at 7:00 PM in the Square. Regular sessions will begin the subsequent week at 7:00 PM, concurrent with the first Sponsor meeting. Please see the Parent Letter (coming fall 2022) for further details. The base rate will be $90 per child (plus $20 late fee per child and any S&H costs).
