Brigitte Schmidt

Brigitte Schmidt grew up in a small town called Hartney, and moved to Brandon 8 years ago. She went to Mass with her family on Sundays, but fell away from the faith when she was young. Through the Grace of God, and with quite a bit of pushing from her dad, she was brought back to faith, and received her first communion and confirmation at St. Augustine’s. She’s now been a parishioner and faithful Catholic for 2 years, and hopes to ignite the fire of God’s love in people of all ages.

Aleksandra Onita

School Liaison

Aleksandra, her husband, and her three daughters moved from England to Canada exactly one year ago and are making Brandon home. Aleksandra grew up in a devout Catholic family in Poland. The General Home of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate were located in her hometown, so Aleksandra has a deep sense of faith. Working along the Sisters was the greatest part of her family and friends' lives. Aleksandra hopes to share her enthusiasm and commitment to St.Augustine's in her ministry with families. Her goal is to bring parents into deeper relationship with the Lord so they in turn will be able to do that for their children.

The Parish Family Events Committee is a group of dedicated parishioners who assist the Faith Formation Office in organizing and executing family events at St. Augustine's. Its goal is to bring the faith alive through restoring Catholic culture in our parish by supporting active families, reaching out to bring families back into the fold, and restoring the faith lives of our parishioners, both young and old, through holistic, fun-filled and spiritually edifying events.
