Friday of the Octave of Easter

Happy Easter!

Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her,

ablaze with light from her eternal King,

let all corners of the earth be glad,

knowing an end to gloom and darkness.

(From the Exsultet - Easter Vigil)

We are filled with Easter joy! On Fridays of the year, we are normally required to do penance in commemoration of Jesus' death on the Cross--but not this Friday! Remember that every day within the Octave of Easter (the first eight days) we celebrate as though they were each Easter Sunday!

The Easter season lasts for 50 days, so let our alleluias resound in praise of Our Paschal Lamb's sacrifice--He is Risen!

Don't forget to continue praying your Divine Mercy Novena which ends this weekend for Divine Mercy Sunday (the Second Sunday of Easter).

Are you struggling in your isolation? Join the Parish Family Events Committee on Fridays to pray live on Facebook (no account necessary). Send in your prayer requests to pfc@faith.staug.ca.
