Saturdays & the Blessed Virgin Mary - Join the world in praying the Rosary

Saturday is the day especially dedicated to the Blessed Mother. We pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary on Saturdays, we pray the Five First Saturdays devotion, and these traditions of Marian devotion have found powerful roots since the early days of the Church (see the National Catholic Register's article Proof Saturday is Mary's Special Day).

Our Lady has intervened in world history more than once to shield God's people from incomprehensible devastation. As Catholics, we honor the Blessed Mother as Queen of Heaven and ask for her intercession before the throne of God. She desires us to send her our petitions to place at the feet of Jesus. As the perfectly obedient Son, Jesus cannot refuse His Mother.

During these uncertain days, it is especially prudent to ask our Blessed Mother for help from heaven. Not only do we enjoy a special connection to the Divine Favor through Mary, but we have a duty as Christians to pray for these favors, to ask God for protection for ourselves, our families, and for the world.

Many people around the world have turned to our Blessed Mother at this time in praying the Rosary. We are inviting all parishioners to partake in daily prayer of the Rosary, including praying online with Scripture scholar Jeff Cavins through the Ascension Press Facebook page. You don't need a Facebook account to view the live stream which will happen at 3 PM CST.
